About me
I am a textile artist and designer based in Menorca, deeply connected to textiles through heritage and family legacy. In 2013, I began experimenting with natural fibres—silk and wool—and became fascinated by the versatility and potential of materials that are often regarded today as waste.
My practice is rooted in regenerative thinking. Through the element of wool, I explore the circularity of the material and the network of interconnections between land stewardship, landscape, ancestral craft heritage, art, and the conservation of nature, its biodiversity, and its resilience in the face of climate change.
With an eclectic background that includes a twenty-year career in filmmaking and a master’s degree in Bioconstruction from the Instituto Español de Baubiologie, I approach my work from a multidisciplinary perspective. In 2022, I had the opportunity to collaborate and take part in a residency at Studio Claudy Jongstra in the Netherlands, where I also contributed as part of the teaching team in several of her workshops.
Through Andrea Sender Studio, I develop limited edition capsule collections that explore ways to reintroduce natural materials and plant-based colour into interior spaces.
